MacEwan Fair Trade Campus Week

It’s officially Fair Trade Campus Week (September 25 to 29) and this year, MacEwan University is excited to celebrate being designated Canada’s 25th fair trade university.

The Office of Sustainability and Food Services partnered together in August 2016 to earn this designation, which was approved in April 2017.

Along with this designation, Food Services was able to serve fair trade Doi Chaang coffee at Campus Convenience and in the Robbins. This organic coffee is grown in Thailand and allows farmers to work closely with suppliers and help achieve a more sustainable and economically stable standard of living.

The Office of Sustainability and Food Services are excited to team up again for Fair Trade Campus Week and educate students, staff and faculty about the significance of what it means both on and off campus. They’ll be giving out free coffee, samples and chatting about all things fair.

Make sure to follow us on social media @MacEwanEats and @SustainMacEwanU to find out what is going on throughout the week. To learn more about MacEwan’s Fair Trade designation, visit us here.
